Your prayers have been answered. After decades of begging
from jelly bean fans, Jelly-Belly have finally “perfected” a beer flavoured
jelly bean. Specifically it’s inspired by hefeweizen draft beer. Sporting a
pretty iridescent finish (because this is a SPECIAL jelly bean), its flavour is
described as “clean with notes of wheat and a touch of sweetness” and having a “mildly
bready” aroma.
How much like beer it’s going to taste is something you’ll just have to find out for yourselves. But given how much the popcorn flavour tastes
like popcorn (literally zero percent) there’s a good chance that it’s going to
taste like yeasty sugar. But I’m still dying to try one. On the flipside, it’s
going to be one of the few flavours that you’re actually certain it’s what you
think it is because of its shiny sparkly finish. And who doesn’t hate it when
you bite into a nice cherry jelly bean only to find it’s actually cinnamon?
