It's the question we often ask ourselves, possibly whilst slightly inebriated, so the Japanese channel NTV has of course launched a brand new game show in which contestants get to guess and indeed find out. In this particular instance, they ask the boyband Tokio along with some other celebrities to test the various objects for their confectionery qualities...it's really quite something.
Now test yourself for nine gruelling rounds...
The room is unveiled....time to start biting stuff.
Round one....real calendar or confectionery calendar?
Of course not, it's made of wood.
Round four, the old expression 'if you get this right, I'll eat my hat', has never been more appropriate really. What do you reckon?
Ding ding! That's right it's a tasty candy hat. Look at her face, she's enjoying that.
Round five, and this is a three parter....what do you think? Is she really about to eat that table top? Looks pretty solid to us.
Ok, pretty sure she just shattered a few teeth there....
Round six....will this young man be eating a regular wooden picture frame or some sort of chocolatey delight?
It's real! That there, is the face of a man who just bit down hard onto a piece of wood. On telly.
Round eight, this one looks a bit easy to us (due to the big bite mark, mainly). But what do you think? Is that an edible table leg?
Round nine, the final round. Do you think the popstar with the terrifying expression is about to bite his way through the door handle? That's certainly a question I've never typed out before.
Yes! He did it, and he looks bloody delighted too.
