Community Pulls Together to Rebuild Sensory Room for Autistic Kid.

This is a touching story, proving that people aren't all that bad really...After arsonists (aka awful fucking bastards) torched a brand new sensory room, meant as a Christmas surprise for 7 year old Harvey Ratcliff from Wythenshawe, Manchester, his parents Fiona and Wesley were at a loss as to what they should do next, while the general public looked on in disgust. Harvey suffers from a type of autism, and a room like this could vastly improve his quality of life.

Step up to the plate, local businessman Lawrence Jones, who read about the Ratcliff's plight in the local paper, and pledged to build him "the den of all dens". After nine days of hard work, getting other member of the community to pitch in, the room was complete.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “It’s been tough at times but a lot of people have really pulled together with this moment as the target and seeing Harvey’s reaction made it more than worthwhile."

“As well as doing this I’ve got to know a fantastic family and I’ve no doubt I’ll be back to see Harvey enjoy the den as he grows up."

“It’s a fantastic feeling to do this for him and it’s something I’ve got the bug for now. It’s not just about money but donating your time and I think it’s something other businesses should be doing much more of.”Needless to say, that man deserves a pint.
