5 great drinking games for students (or anyone else really)

It’s a Saturday night and it’s party time… Wait a minute you’re a student, every night is party time!

But sitting around doing nothing and pre-drinking until you go out is boring.

So here are five easy and fun drinking games to get you really really drunk really really fast.
(Please drink responsibly, etc etc)

Taking Names with Leighton Baines

The premise of the game is simple, you must think of an action and then rhyme it with a famous person e.g the title of this game “Taking Names with Leighton Baines”, “Getting fisty with Linford Christie”, “Eating Candy with Ghandi”....you get the idea.

If you can’t think of a name you take a gulp/shot/swallow whatever. No name or action can be repeated so in the later rounds you’ll be getting “Very Merry with Mary Berry”.

Veggies

This is a very fun game to play, I’ve tried it. You all sit around so you can see each other and give yourself a vegetable name and at first you shout out your name so that everyone knows your vegetable name. For the first round you moving round the circle shouting out a vegetable name and that vegetable has to shout out another vegetable until they mess up. THEN on the second round you do the same but you can’t open your mouth, then in the third round you have your hand over your mouth, then in the fourth you turn away from each, then in the fifth you step away from each other and it follows suit from there.

If you mess up you drink, if you laugh you drink, if you cheat you drink.

Anyone else baffled? Here is a vid of some American girls playing it...

Dancing In The Club

Much similar to the traditional kids remembering game of “Granny Went To Market” the first person must do a dance and say “the student went in the club and did *insert name of dance whilst doing the dance*”, the second person must do the same dance whilst adding their own dance, this continues until you’ve ran out of moves or you’ve danced so much you’re hammered on the floor.

If you forget a dance move you drink, if you run out of ideas you drink and if you laugh or break the chain you drink.

21

This is a simple game for people who can count, the group sit around and count from 1 to 21 but in sections up to 3 numbers e.g a number on its own (1), a number and the one after (1,2) or a number and the two after it (1,2,3). This continues until you get to 21, if you get 21 you take a drink. As the game progresses you can add in interesting tasks to do on every number e.g Mexican wave on 7, star jump on 18 etc.

If you land on 21 you drink, if you mess up a number or task you drink.

Here are some people playing it, skip to about 3 mins in though as most of it is just some LADS pissing themselves laughing..http://youtu.be/Rm8ONpZf-eQ

Edward Beerhands

Tape a beer (or more if you’re rowdy)  onto each grasp of hand with duct tape and get a flatmate to lock you in a room and you’re not allowed to come out until you drink it all or chunder. It’s quite an excessive game and one for if you like being drunk alone for a while.

You can’t stop drinking, you can’t take them off until you’re done. You can’t answer the phone or do anything else until the drink has gone.

You could turn it into a flat contest if you want.

You can thank us later.
