RAK Nomination - Random Acts Of Kindness

By now, you've probably heard of Neknomination - a worldwide phenomenon that involves people doing daft things while necking loads of booze, filming it and then nominating their friends to do the same. Most of the time it's a bit of drunken fun but then other times, quite frankly people have died. So it's pretty stupid, on the whole.

One South African man, by the name of Brent Lindique, is looking to change all this by creating a new social media craze - RAK Nomination, which stands for Random Acts Of Kindness. The idea being that you do something nice for someone you might not know, film it and then nominate a couple of friends to do the same.

In the video below, the first of this new trend, we see Brent pulling up at a set of traffic lights to give a stranger a sandwich, chocolate bar and a drink. Not exactly going to change the guys life, but certainly brighten up his day.

In another video (also below) a young Edinburgh man named Mikey is seen wandering around Asda to buy a coat, hat and a flask (that he fills with homemade soup), which he then gives to a homeless guy called Brian who's been on the streets for 2 years. He even buys his dog a tin of food. Lovely.

It's a very simple premise, and while we're sure he's not suggesting everyone can go out and just buy someone a brand new coat, the idea of doing something selfless for someone unsuspecting can only be a good thing.
