Man Smuggles Cocaine In The World's Crappest Leg Cast

A man tried to smuggle cocaine in what was quite possibly the worst leg cast ever made.

Daniel Ramirez smuggled the drugs, worth roughly £15,000, in five heat sealed bags wrapped around his leg on a 41 hour long Amtrak train journey from Chicago to Colorado. He was caught at a stop off in Albuquerque, Colorado.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents approached Ramirez after spotting his suspiciously nervous behaviour, reports Smoking Gun, as well as passengers reporting that he was walking around the carriage without his crutches.

But the agents were most suspicious about his cast, which Ramirez explained away by claiming to have been in a motorcycle accident. Police reported that the cast was lumpy and uneven and just appeared extremely odd and inconsistent with a regular leg cast. Yeah, that would be because he was packing it with a kilo of cocaine.

At police insistence, Ramirez removed his sock, and that is where it really fell apart for him - literally!

Police report that; "The bottom of the cast began to crumble and fall off the bottom of his foot!"

As if that was stupid enough, he had gone a little overboard with the creative flair and decorated the cast with a smattering of fake blood. And by "fake", we're talking a, "you would have been better off using ketchup, mate", level of fake.
