Married Women to be Addressed by their Maiden Name in New French Gender-Equality Laws

In a display of gender-equality gone mad, new French laws state that women will have to keep their maiden name after marrying.

As it is already a choice for women to take their husband’s name, with the prevalence of hyphenating or keeping her own name ever increasing, it seems entirely unnecessary for there to be a law in place forcing those who would choose to take their husbands name to have to opt out of the new regulations.

THREE QUARTERS of women in France CHOOSE to take their husbands surname. With a clear majority, and nothing in place to prevent people not choosing to do so, this is completely pointless. Critics of this law, which we assume is quite a large number of people, say it’s a total intrusion into family life.
